I started my training in 2009, after playing Rugby League for many years before that and just realising it wasn’t what I wanted. Being a bit of a gentle kid, my parents were very surprised to hear I wanted to give MMA a go, but supported me every way they could.
Unfortunately growing up just south of Newcastle, it was difficult to find a gym that had any kind of mixed training. So I first started training in just Muay Thai, then within a year had found a gym that had what I felt I needed and moved to training in BJJ and Muay Thai/Kickboxing.
It was there that the real obsession started.
From then I have had the opportunity to train in a variety of different gyms, locally and internationally (Thailand and Brazil), gathering many skills to implement in my training and also pass on.
When I moved to QLD in 2017, after a brief period in the Army, I finally got to make my fighting debut a year later. A heavyweight boxing match which I won via TKO, and then within 3 months had my MMA debut which I won in the first round via submission.
After stringing some more wins together and capturing the XFC Heavyweight championship, I was given the opportunity to represent Australia in amateur MMA. Eventually at one point, ranking in the top 5 amateur heavyweights in the world.
Then in 2021, after some injuries forced me out of training and fighting in MMA, I decided to really focus on my health and boxing. I lost 20 kgs and made my professional boxing debut at Cruiserweight which I won via TKO in the second round against a former regional and national champion.
Through all of this I have always had a passion for passing on my knowledge and helping people reach their goals, not just in fighting, but in life. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone find success with knowledge you have passed on to them.
